SEE BIG BEARŐS AUTUMN HUES FROM A BIRDŐS EYE VIEW

The Colors are Coming! The Colors are Coming! Right now is the time to get out and see the fall colors in and around Big Bear Lake. In just the last few days the oaks, cottonwoods and dogwoods have shifted from green to gold.

Get up to Big Bear within the next three weeks to admire the mountain vistas peppered with auburn, yellow and gold intertwined with towering evergreens. Big Bear is one of only a few places in Southern California where you can truly see spectacular fall colors.

One of the top spots to pilgrimage is the Aspen Grove, a downright favorite spot for autumn hues in the Big Bear area. ItŐs about 17 miles east of Big Bear Lake just off Highway 38 at Heartbar Campground. The Aspen Grove is a must see, ItŐs is absolutely golden! Be sure to take a camera.

Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain is in itself an excellent place to take in the fall colors with an abundance of oak trees that surround the amusement area. Another great aspect about Alpine Slide is it offers ways to see Big Bear ValleyŐs palette of autumn hues from a different perspective.

The Soaring Eagle gives guests an opportunity to get a birdŐs eye view to see the shades of gold and yellow that dots the valley below. The Soaring Eagle starts at the base of Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain, and lifts riders backwards on a cable to a 70-foot tall launch tower that is situated on a hillside. ItŐs a great opportunity to see the same views Big BearŐs famous eagles get to witness from the sky. This ride gets above it all, offering spectacular views of the blue lake and green pine trees that are mixed together with the grand display of fall colors. Cherish the moment, because before you know it, the Soaring Eagle darts back for a fun thrill ride back to the base!

The second option is the Alpine Slide, which transports guests via chairlift. Take a laid-back ride to the top on this reduced-speed chairlift that allows plenty of time to take in the natural beauty of the San Bernardino Mountains and Big Bear Lake. Guests are whisked away, leaving their feet dangling over the forest floor on a leisure 5-minute ride to the top. ItŐs a great way to treat your eyes to the beautiful panoramic views. Once at the top, you can take in the scenic beauty before heading down the twists and turns of the Alpine Slide.

The fall colors are here now, so what are you waiting for? Once Mother Nature blows the leaves away, the fall show will come to a standstill, which means youŐll have to wait for next year to see Big BearŐs blazing autumn beauty.
